He also recorded guitar and co-produced songs with many mainstream artists. Ray was the Guitarist who played on NERD’s ‘Sooner Or Later’ back in 2008 and went on to record guitar on Chris Brown’s Graffiti album, songs include ‘I Can Transform Ya’, I’ll Go, and ‘Fallin Down’. His co-production skills were put to use on Marsha Ambrosius’s album titled Late Nights Early Mornings, song titles are ‘With You’ and ‘Stay’. The Word: Make no mistake, Luther Dickinson, Cody Dickinson, Robert Randolph, John Medeski and Rayfield “Ray Ray” Holloman put the “super” in supergroup. Bonded over their love for gospel and Sacred Steel, the members of North Mississippi All-Stars with John Medeski reached out to Sacred Steel superstar, Robert Randolph, who said yes to joining this stirring collective. A couple of cool things about this group – besides their massive talent – is that they are likely the only group playing Sacred Steel who are not from the House of God, (other than Robert, of course), the church that is the crucible for this fiery, pedal steel-based brand of gospel music. Additionally, this is an instrumentals-only band, letting the gospel fervor bubble up in a simmering broth of faith, blues and devotion to The Word. Word.
